Identification #

An esorediate Cladonia which terminate in open axils which allow an observer to peer down into the podetia. The variety C. crispata var. cetrariiformis looks very similar to some forms of C. multiformis which lack cups. The Pd result for C. multiformis should be redder than in C. crispata. When present, the cups of C. multiformis are perforated but do not have wide open axils as in C. crispata.
