Identification #

Of all the Ramalina spp. this species is best recognized by having the most finely divided lobe tips. Some similarly fine tips can be found on some other species, such as R. farinacea, but those thalli are usually larger overall, and the finely branched tips may be absent from the younger branches/lobes. In R. roesleri even the youngest branches/lobes are intricately divided.
