Identification #

The upper surface is rather unspectacular. Brown and green closer to the base of the thallus. From above appearing similar to brown or green Nephroma or Peltigera species. The underside with the bright white holes, cyphellae, contrasting an otherwise dark brown tomentum. These true cyphellae being characteristic for the Stica genus.

Terricolous, gravel, bryocolous, among heaths and other small tundra plants

Notes #

An amphi-Beringian species. Apothecia have not yet been observed in this species (CLH).
