Identification #

Parmelia skultii is a light to dark brown foliose lichen with some lobes which can be very planar and smooth. It lacks isidia and soredia but often has a conspicuous pruina. Apothecia not known of the species. It has rhizines on the lower surface which can be simple or branched.

Terricolous (Spribille et al. 2023), saxicolous, bryocolous (CLH)

Notes #

Absent from SE Alaska, otherwise ubiquitous on the mainland of the state.
